BELLINGHAM - Applications are now being accepted for the 2010 Ms. Wheelchair Washington USA competition.
The competition celebrates the abilities and accomplishments of women with disabilities who have overcome obstacles in their lives, said Lowery Lockard, founder of Ms. Wheelchair USA.
Contestants' primary form of mobility must be a wheelchair, but women who may be able to use their legs are not excluded from the competition, Lockard said. Contestants must be at least 18, though there is no upper age limit. They can be of any marital status.
The selected Washington state representative will participate in the live, nationally televised competition in late July in Ohio, Lockard said.
A $250 entry fee must be submitted with the completed application package, which includes two letters of recommendation and an official platform statement, by Thursday, Feb. 25.

You thought I made this up didn't you?
Admit it, it would not be out of character on my part, but I did not.
Really? We need a wheelchair beauty contest?
And where will all these folks park?
What is the driving need behind this, ok pushing in some cases.
